Inaugural Ballet Soiree The Great Gatsby Prohibition Party at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce
The Washington Ballet kicked off the 2011-2012 season with the inaugural Ballet Soireé: The Great Gatsby Prohibition Party. Décor designer Michael Horton transformed the United States Chamber of Commerce into a glamorous 1920s speakeasy for a celebration of Septime Webre’s smash-hit adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel “The Great Gatsby.” Guests wore their finest vintage attire and enjoyed prohibition-style gin and vodka beverages, courtesy of Smooth Ambler Spirits, and pre-prohibition style lager provided by Batch 19.
