I am also a minority, I'm Asian. Now I have stood in line many times here and I do think they give preference to white people. I have been able to get in often. I have noticed that they do disproportionately restrict African American from the club. It seems like they are trying to keep the place from being all ghetto yo. Now I have watched this take place while standing in line many times. In fact Ive been admitted after watching African Americans being told the club is full. My friends and I are not in the know. WTF? They do let Lebron James come hang whenever he's in town though.

Incredibly rude doormen

The doormen wouldn't let us in because we were all guys, even though we were on the list and at the door before 11pm. We called some friends and then had more girls then guys, but they still wouldn't let us in and let a few girls in. Apparently this placed is mobbed by men and the real hot chicks end up at K and 14th (part, josephine, K street lounge). STAY AWAY from this place! They think they're trendy and hot, but in reality they're just a-holes.

I am a minority lawyer at an unnamed law firm that is right down the street from Shadow Room. I got a night of waiting in line for 45 minutes while I watched every single individual who was not of a minority get into the club. Now I do not pull the race card very lightly, and to be sure I analyzed the situation to make sure I was not out of order. 1) I was dressed in a black suit with a button down shirt (not dress code) ; 2) I was standing in line with about 7 other people all of which happened to be black, hispanic, or other; 3) I watched about 25-40 people leave the club while I was in line waiting to get in (not a club filled to capacity), 4) after a while we were turned away and they said they were closing in a half an hour and did not want to let us in, they let in about 4-8 more white individuals without question. Now like I said I do not pull the race card lightly, but I must honestly say i was disappointed and appalled at the behavior of this club.
