The Sycamore Island Club is owned and operated by its members through volunteers. The club is a non-profit Maryland corporation. Becoming a member is especially difficult; they have a 14+ year waiting list of nearly 200 applicants. The list was closed in 2001, and they are no longer accepting applicants. If you're not already on the list, be sure to check the web site for updates. For members, the Sycamore Island Club will host your large parties with activities like canoeing, fishing, and picnics. The country club's relaxing and untouched nature paths are a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
