Owner Morris Cunningham is Jamaican, so too is the food and atmosphere of the Turntable Restaurant and Lounge, which is 12-years old. The place has actually been a bar and food establishment for 35 years, Cunningham says. It is located in a place in D.C. where there is not a lot of foot traffic
during weeknights. It is a hangout for locals where Missouri and Georgia Aves. meet in upper-east northwest. The Turntable has a D.J. spinning reggae and other dance music records. The place is friendly, roomy and there is seating for 75. The drink specialty is the Jamaican Rum Punch. Carryout of authentic Jamaican cuisine is available.
