The Argonaut resembles a bow of a ship at the head of the H Street, NE, strip. It is at the convergence of H Street and Maryland Ave., with Florida Ave. and the various offshoots such as Bladensburg Road in the distance. There is a lot of construction going on in the vicinity. It draws a steady stream of locals who enjoy the outdoor patio or the cozy confines the interior bar and dining area that is adorned with a mix of interesting artifacts. The music mix is eclectic and the wait staff is upbeat. The specialty is the fish taco. There is a definite neighborhood feel to the place that is going to be discovered by others. We hope XTC’s “Jason and the Argonauts” makes its way onto the playlist.
