Ibiza is a converted warehouse just north of Capitol Hill in the North-of-Massachusetts Ave. N.E., section of town that is huge (32,000 square feet) and throbbing when at full speed. Co-owner Adam Needham explains that the nightclub-lounge has a state-of-the-art sound system, with three deejays spinning on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. There is a gourmet VIP lounge along the second floor of one of the dance floors. Ibiza also has a rooftop dance and drink area, warmed by chimneys. The place is sprawling and also features light effects. During weekdays, the club offers lunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for the growing office-worker population in the area. Friday happy hour is from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and attracts Capitol Hill staff. The club also features its own holding cell for those who get too rowdy, drunk or are underage. It celebrates its one-year anniversary July 6, 2008.
