The D.C. chapter of the Recording Academy held a live viewing of the Grammys Sunday night at the Hard Rock Café. Academy membership bought two tickets to the glam festivities, but non-musical types could get in for $35.
Inside, record execs, producers and musicians schmoozed and snacked on chocolate fondue from the full buffet. According to up-and-comers, it was "the place to be" for meeting industry leaders, and there was plenty of time for networking between acceptance speeches. Booze and opinions on Coldplay flowed freely, and guests could catch all of the action on a countless screens throughout the bar. All in all, it was four wins for Lil Wayne, five for Robert Plant and one solid hit for the Hard Rock.
