Sharpen your mind while dulling your senses

Do you know who directed Michael Jackson's "Bad" music video? Can you name the smallest country in the word? Familiar with the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow? If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, then you, my friend, are cut out for the glory that is trivia night at your local watering hole. It's a great way to have a drink, relax and impress members of the opposite sex with your bizarre knowledge of 80s TV stars. So grab some of your smartest friends and coworkers (don't forget to specialize) and head on down to one of the below bars for a night of Jeopardy-style fun.

And best of all, most places let you choose ridiculous team names. Just don't use "J. Rock and Awesome Sauce." That's already taken.

What's the most amount of beers you've drank in one sitting? (Let us know in the comment section below)

Madam’s Organ Restaurant & Bar

pick Madam’s Organ Restaurant & Bar

2461 18th St. N.W. - Washington
202-667-5370

Every Tuesday night Madam's Organ turns the reins over to Stump!, a company specializing in fun (and serious) pub trivia. Teams of up to six contestants compete for two hours in categories that test the furthest reaches of your brain. The hosts are lively and the games get heated (the top three teams win Madams Organ gift certificates) so come prepared! A warning: the questions may not be easy (possible topics range from sports to anatomy) and Stump! doesn't care how many drinks you've had beforehand. Tue. 8 p.m.-10 p.m.

Ireland's Four Courts

pick Ireland's Four Courts

2051 Wilson Blvd. - Arlington

Get there early to reserve a table and take part in their great Happy Hour specials from 4 -8 p.m., including $2.50 domestic bottles, half price appetizers and Monday burger specials. There's also great prizes for the winners ($75 gift certificate), as well as other categories like Best Team Name. Mon. 7:30 p.m.

Rock Bottom Brewery

pick Rock Bottom Brewery

4238 Wilson Blvd. - Arlington
703-516-7688

Head into the week with some great prizes and bragging rights at Rock Bottom's trivia night. Get a group of friends and test your knowledge with host Jay Ray. First place gets a $50 gift card and second place gets a $25 gift card for use at Rock Bottom. Mon. 8 p.m.-10 p.m.

You can play alone or with friends in a team, just be prepared to split the $50 in prizes. Wed. 6:45 p.m.-10 p.m.

Garrett's Bar

Garrett's Bar

3003 M St. N.W. - Washington

The Greene Turtle

The Greene Turtle

Trivia is an all night affair at the Greene Turtle in Laurel. Cash prizes don't hurt, as don't the $2 domestic drafts. Additionally, guests can listen to the hot sound of DJ Corona, the Turtle's most popular spinner. So music, drinks, trivia and some extra cash in your pocket? You can't beat that with a baseball bat. Tue. 7 p.m.-2 a.m.

Flanagan's Harp and Fiddle

4844 Cordell Ave. - Bethesda
301-951-0115

Flanagan's Harp and Fiddle is one of Bethesda's premiere Irish pubs so of course they have a pub quiz. Monday night is trivia night run by "Stump!", the same company behind Madams Organ's popular version. Answer the questions correctly and you could be one of three prize winners. Mon. 8 p.m-10 p.m.
