Events DC Launch Party at Sax Lounge
The Washington Convention and Sports Authority has a new name and new attitude -- Events DC. The brand will be a one-stop shop for major events in the nations capital. Business, government and community leaders including Gregory O'Ddell, CEO of Events DC; Jack Evans, Councilman of Ward 2; Allen Lew, City Administrator; and Councilman- At Large Micheal Brown, gathered with guests for a new conference and reception at Sax Lounge to announce the new moniker, with music by celebrity DJ D-Nice, a premium Grey Goose open bar and endless hor d'oeuvres. Other notable guests in attendance included famed DC cartoonist Nick Galifianakis, celebrity stylist Paul Wharton, documentary filmmaker Karim Chrobog, and Nationals players Drew Storen, Tyler Clippard and John Lannan.
Events DC will oversee and streamline services for the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Stadium-Armory campus including the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium and festival grounds, and Nationals Park.
