I noticed that there were no comments since last year when this place opened. The reason is that G&T has not lived up to the hype that the owners including Fritz Brogan a throwback to the days of hosting parties for underage undergrads at the local party school. Notice the chairs around the bar in the pics on this page. If you go there now they are largely gone. Bartenders who are supposed to be licensed aren't always able to show their licenses (?). Did your dog eat it? Only good news is that drinks have gotten cheaper (sometimes as low as a dollar), but check your bill, since there have been reports of frequent overcharging. Fritzie, is this what you have come to, selling to legal drinkers is hard but did it come to this?

Decor is cheap, few tables or chairs, this place is a bar for drinking lots. There is a cash machine so they want you to spend cash as they have a $20 credit card minimum with hefty fees. Since we can't report on VCAs here, we suggest you check with DC PD before coming and/or the ABC. There are reports of overcharging by the bartender who is supposed to be licensed but most likely will give you some mumbo jumbo about not having a copy of it. This is the kind of bar that made the Bowery in NYC famous in the 50s and 60s. However if you like that lifestyle, please show particularly late during the week.

on behalf of metromix, we reached out to each venue nominated for current staff pictures. When many of them were unable to provide us with the most up-to-date pictures, we used what we had. Feel free to send the link to all of your friends to ensure the 'hawtest' bartenders do in-fact win...

With respect to the ladies of Josephine, several of which I know, three of the other pictures doesnt even SHOW any of the bartenders, while the picture in the middle with the employees of Fly isnt a recent picture as the lady in it no longer works there :) I think this contest would be MUCH better of MetroMix went through and took current pictures of said staff. THEN...let the HAWTEST bartenders win :) -- eFromDC

Argo is a great place to go before a Rock and Roll Hotel show. The bar is fun, the food is awesome and the people that work there are friendly. Definitely recommend the fish tacos!

The 9:30 Club has music, a bar, and cupcakes! I would recommend this venue to tweens, teens, parents, hipsters, metal-heads, and any other category you wish to place yourself in. The music is always good, the door staff is friendly, and the neighborhood is safe. Check it out!

You just gotta love this place. Sportsman's Pub has four pool tables, a big horseshoe-shaped bar, a jukebox and friendly staff & regulars. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal but not lowbrow. Think of a classic neighborhood bar, take away the riffraff and add some wide screen TVs and you've got Sportsman's Pub. What makes Sportsman's even more fun? They host APA league pool in the evenings. Mondays and Thursdays there's 9-ball, Tuesdays and Wednesdays there's 8-ball. Play begins at 7:30 and lasts a few hours. Everyone I've met there is friendly and the level of good sportsmanship is impressive. That's not to say there isn't a healthy amount of good natured chops-busting though -- be sure to bring a sense of humor if you shoot pool here! The only a few things I'd change about Sportsman's. First, the parking is out back in a run-down lot. (Speaking of parking: DO NOT park at the Tastee Diner next door, as they WILL tow you! Also, don't eat or drink there either.) My second peeve is the lack of paper towels in the men's room; there’s not even a dispenser, and I don't much care for drying my hands on my shirt. Last but not least, despite what the profile says Sportsman’s has no kitchen; currently they let you bring in outside food -- which is nice of them -- but it would be cool to have at least some appetizers available. Overall this is a great place. They've really turned things around in the last few years. I look forward to visiting Sportsman's Pub every week and would highly recommend it to my friends.

i went to the park a few saturdays ago, and out on the patio they had this guy playing the bongo drums along with a dj mixing right next to him. i thought that was really cool. it was a nice outdoor vibe that i dont see too many places in DC. people were dancing, and it was an all around great time. it made me wish i could play the drums even more!
