Hollywood heavyweights land Tony nominations

Kristin Chenoweth and Jim Parsons this morning announced nominations in 26 categories for Tony Awards. The show will be broadcast live from the Beacon Theatre on CBS on June 10, 8-11 p.m. ET.

Among the starry names getting nods:

In the best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play category, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman; James Earl Jones, Gore Vidal's The Best Man; Frank Langella, Man and Boy and John Lithgow, The Columnist all picked up nominations.

In the leading actress/play category are Stockard Channing, Other Desert Cities; Linda Lavin, The Lyons and Cynthia Nixon, Wit.

Andrew Garfield was nominated in the featured role/play category for his work in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman.

Judith Light picked up a nod in the featured role/play cateogory for Other Desert Cities.

And David Alan Grier was nominated in the featured role/musical category for The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess.
