"William Ocean" is crowned US Guitar Finals Champion

Air guitar fanatics lined up around the block at the 9:30 Club to see the battle of a lifetime and witness the crowning of the US Air Guitar Champion. Competitors representing over 25 US cities battled it out for the title of US Champ and the opportunity to represent America at The World Air Guitar Championships in Finland later this month. The house was literally and figuratively packed with airness. Competitors ranged from the oldest living air guitarist to the smelliest and shook the crowd with rousing performances to some of today’s top hits and immortal oldies. The night culminated with NYC Regional Champion, Andrew "William Ocean" Litz, securing the most points and the championship belt. There are no official “losers” in air guitar, instead it’s all about having some fun. As the founders of US Air Guitar believe, if you are holding an air guitar, you can’t be holding a gun.
