A Night at the Living Zoo: Halloween Eve
There was no need for animals at The National Zoo the night before Halloween. There was plenty to see from the people dressed up. Guests to The Night of the Living Zoo wore some one-of-a-kind costumes for a one-of-a-kind night. There were “spirits” to drink, a sword swallower, a musical tightrope walker, a booth where group costumes could be photographed, then judged, and a couple of open exhibits. Guests could check out the reptiles at the zoo, or the monkeys (hopefully they didn’t scare the animals too much). From scary to literally sweet, there were all kinds of costumes to check out, and very few repetitions of ensembles. Some “of-the-moment” costumes included an allusion to a recent box office hit, a new, sometimes scandalous pop star, and a group costume straight out of a popular television ad. Read on to see these outfits and more!
