Heart For Haiti
Several hundred members of the Greater Washington Commercial Real Estate Community gathered at the Hyatt Regency of Capitol Hill to raise money for the American Red Cross' Haiti Disaster Relief Fund on January 20. Less then a week ago, Khalid Itum of MOI organized the event by sending a text message to a colleague about wanting to help Haiti in DC. Days later, a $100 ticket donated to the American Red Cross granted attendees a night full of inspirational speeches, great company, good food, and an open bar. More than $100,000 was raised by the end of the night and contributions are still coming. Presenting sponsors include: MOI, SKANSKA, Arent Fox, Barbara Nolan, Inc., OPX, Jones Lang LaSalle, Delucchi, SWANK, Vornado and The Hyatt Regency.
