Congressional Cupcake Wars
Sprinkles Cupcakes held the inaugural Congressional Cupcake Wars on Thursday at the Rayburn House Office Building. There were over a 100 spectators watching 7 Congressional teams compete. Alicia McAfee and Anna Vetter from the office of Rep. Tim Johnson (IL-15) were crowned champions by the team of judges, Candace Nelson, Amanda McClements and Patrick Gavin. In attendance were Rep. Chris Van Hollen and Fisher House's Tish Stropes and the family of double amputee (101st Airborne Afghanistan veteran) Chaz Allen who was there with his wife Jessica and daughters Deryn and Ryann. Sprinkles donated $10,000 to Fisher House in honor of the event.
