Geek 2 Chic D.C.
Some unlikely models hit the runway Tuesday night, November 8th, for a special charity event at Bloomingdale's in Chevy Chase. Founded in 2010 by Microsoft and Bloomingdale's, Geek 2 Chic presents "geeks" from diverse walks of life strutted down the catwalk in the latest fashions to raise funds for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). NFTE provides programs that inspire young people from low-income communities to stay in school, recognize business opportunities, and plan for successful futures. All proceeds from tickets, plus 10% of Bloomingdale's Men's sales the evening of the event, benefit NFTE.
Among the D.C. geeks strutting the runway were Andrew Noyes of Facebook, Chris Moody of Yahoo! News, DJ Saul of iStrategyLabs, Dominic Campbell of FutureGov, NFTE graduate Jabious Bam Williams, Jim Long of NBC News, Leo Schmid of Thrillist, Pat Yonpradit of Montgomery County Public Schools, Patrick Bell of the U.S. House of Representatives, Winston Lord of Venga and many more.
Following the event at Bloomingdale's, Georgetown's L2 Lounge hosted the exclusive after party.
