Plungefest 2011
The 15-year anniversary of the MSP Polar Bear Plunge at Sandy Point State Park brought out thousands Special Olympics supporters for a dip in the Chesapeake and day of frigid fun. Ravens QB Joe Flacco, and Governor O'Malley were among the local celebrities to take the plunge while the Maryland shore got a little taste of the “Jersey Shore” with DJ Pauly D spinning at the Rams Head Ice Lodge.
The day-long festival also included two public plunges, a VIP plunge, costume contest, sand sculptures, an animal display by the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, as well as six zones of family fun and vendors.
