Tragedy has struck the set of The Lone Ranger.

A representative from the Disney studio, which is making the film starring Johnny Depp, confirmed that a member of the crew died Friday.

"We regretfully confirm that a Lone Ranger crew member passed away after being taken to a local hospital," the statement said. "Our hearts and thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at this time, and our full support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this terrible event."

TMZ reported that the unnamed victim, a male, was a diver who was working in a tank for an upcoming stunt on the Los Angeles set.
