The Real World Goes to Cobalt *Updated*
[Update] Check out my video report from the night below!
Original story below:
It was the first night of really going out with Real World DC… Or did I mean coming out?
Thanks to move-in day at the Real World DC house two Thursdays ago, I’ve devoted my future Thursday nights [all the way up until Thanksgiving] to going out with my favorite new DCers-- The Real World DC cast. [No worries, people. I will find them other nights, too… But Thursday will always be a given.
This past Thursday the cast led me straight to Cobalt. It would be my first experience in a DC gay bar, and it would also be a night filled with interesting sights.
The second I walk in with my companions [“companion”: n; a person who comes with me to find the RWDC cast that is willing to do anything to get “in” with them], two cast members [Josh and Andrew] and a production crew member stop me. “Ohhh Elizabethany, we figured we’d see you here, you blogger,” they said. My response: Silence at first, then laughter, and some hellos.
A bunch of things happened that night and let’s be honest… You don’t want to hear every detail in the way I just told my entrance. I’ll keep it short, simple, and to the point.
While I was at Cobalt last Thursday night I spied:
-Ty, the only African American roommate, semi-stripping on stage while getting yelled at for not taking off his pants and workin’ it for the crowd.
-Emily and Ty making out multiple times both on stage and in the corners.
-When not making out, Ty was putting his face up my friend’s shirt, kissing her stomach, and picking her up so that she was straddling his face. [Yes, he does in fact seem to be “that guy” who thinks he can do anything he pleases. Ugh.]
-Emily clearly wants my companion Martin, and let’s just say the feeling is mutual. They danced on stage together quite a bit.
-Callie seems to be pretty quiet, at least with us. She’s the only one I have yet to have a conversation with, and she’s only ever standing behind or somewhat beside her fellow roommates.
Then, at the end of the night, there was THE heart-breaking moment for me. Last week, I had a great conversation with Mike, the hott one. I had my eye out for him. Then…. I saw this:
Turns out he’s the gay one. Go figure. Now I need to re-evaluate my plans to find another go-to guy. I’m totally up for suggestions/votes on this, ladies.

Sorry to hear about your disappointment. He's the one I would have picked for you. Who knows, maybe Mike's just trying to tell him a secret.
