"The Campaign" Movie Premiere at the Newseum
Time is ticking as the most highly anticipated election of our era is approaching. With both candidates catching heat from the media and voters alike, the battle is likely to get worse before it gets better… and even infants will not be spared. With political posturing unlike America has ever seen, both candidates’ lives will be drastically altered on that fateful day: August 10, 2012. While the highest office in the country is being contested in the coming months, the highest box office numbers are likely what “The Campaign” stars Will Ferrell (playing NC Congressional incumbent Cam Brady) and Zack Galifianakis (playing Brady’s unlikely and unexpected challenger Marty Huggins) are stumping for. Both “candidates” were on hand at the Newseum on July 31 for the Washington, DC premiere of a film that’s expected to toss jabs at both sides of the aisle in nothing short of outlandish fashion. And in a city where the only thing more exciting than a tax cut is a cutting partisan dig, Ferrell and Galifianakis diplomatically sidestepped the opportunity to reveal their picks in November’s election. (However, Ferrell did happily declare himself a fan of Bush. No, not THAT Bush!) Though we must wait until August 10 to cast votes in the Brady/Huggins race, you can select your favorite of their zingers from last night’s event right now…
