PBS airs all-star tribute to Johnny Cash
We Walk The Line: A Celebration of the Music of Johnny Cash, a star-studded concert marking the anniversary of the singer's 80th birthday, premieres nationally this weekend as part of PBS' pledge drive (check local listings). The concert, which was recorded and filmed April 20 at the Moody Theater in Austin, was released Tuesday by Sony Legacy on DVD/CD and Blu-ray disc. Producer Don Was served as musical director for the concert that featured the likes of Kris Kristofferson, Sheryl Crow, Willie Nelson, Shooter Jennings, Jamey Johnson, Shelby Lynne, Brandi Carlile, Amy Lee, Pat Monahan, Carolina Chocolate Drops and Ronnie Dunn. The finale has more than two dozen musicians singing I Walk The Line. The home video packages include archival footage, interviews and a behind-the-scenes look at the celebration. — Jones

Spice Girls reunite at Olympics closing ceremony
Watch for musical nostalgia amid the fireworks and pageantry at Sunday night's closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in London. All five Spice Girls — Ginger (Geri Halliwell), Baby (Emma Bunton), Sporty (Melanie Chisholm), Scary (Melanie Brown) and Posh (Victoria Beckham) — are expected to perform two of their hits. The Who and George Michael also are in the musical mix, along with latecomer Ed Sheeran. Isles of Wonder: Music for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games, the soundtrack from the sonically rich kickoff, is now available on CD, and A Symphony of British Music: Music for the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games will be available for download Aug. 12. — Gundersen

'Eraserhead' available in new limited edition
Hard to believe, but it's been 35 years since David Lynch's first feature film, the creepy cult classic Eraserhead, was released. On Tuesday, this milestone was acknowledged with the arrival of a deluxe vinyl reissue of the memorably unsettling soundtrack. Available in a limited edition of only 1,500 copies, it includes a 16-page booklet, three 11-inch prints, a digital download and a seven-inch single of Peter Ivers' ballad In Heaven, which was subsequently covered by The Pixies. Also featured is a previously unreleased track, Pete's Boogie. — Gardner

NOW franchise gathers eclectic lineup for latest edition
The famous NOW That's What I Call Music! compilation celebrates its 43rd edition with the aptly named NOW That's What I Call Music!, Vol. 43. This year, the 20-track album splashes on all colors of the musical spectrum, from electronic dance artists David Guetta, Calvin Harris and Alex Clare to pop stars Katy Perry and Justin Bieber, rapper Pitbull and country singer Luke Bryan. — Lopez

Get inside Outside Lands
San Francisco's Outside Lands is sold out, but music fans on the outside still will be able to listen to dozens of sets from the music and food festival in Golden Gate Park this weekend. The TuneIn mobile-device app will offer live broadcasts Friday through Sunday on its Outside Lands Radio channel (listen online at www.tunein.com). Also, Free Yr Radio will have special performances and interviews throughout the weekend as part of a fundraiser for independent radio station KZSU-FM.
