Béla Fleck & The Flecktones at Wolf Trap
There's something amazing about watching four musicians at the top of their game play together in perfect harmony. And that's exactly what the members of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones did on Sunday night July 10th for a packed, enthusiastic house at Wolf Trap. Though the Grammy-winning group have been breaking genre boundaries since their inception in 1989, this marks the first time the original line up of Fleck, Howard Levy, Future Man, and Victor Wooten (arguably the world's greatest bass player), have toured together since 1992.
Proving it was worth the wait, the quartet expertly jammed on their signature mix of longform bluegrass, jazz, blues and progressive rock and brought the crowd to their feet, along with help from openers Carolina Chocolate Drops and Abigail Washburn and the Village.
