Dolly Parton @ Wolf Trap
Dolly Parton brought her country charm to The Filene Center at Wolf Trap on her "Better Day World Tour." Fans were treated to songs off Parton's latest album Better Day, as well as her staple hits including "Jolene," "My Tennessee Mountain Home," "Here You Come Again," and many more. Parton also added her country flair to other artist’s songs including The Beatles, Collective Soul, Led Zeppelin, Hannah Montana, and Tina Turner.
The highlight of the night came when Parton "rapped" about Queen Latifah and performed a gospel medley while promoting her upcoming film, Joyful Noise, in which she costars with Queen Latifah. In between songs, Parton shared stories about her childhood in Tennessee, made jokes about her infamous style, and "complained" about the bird sized bugs flying around the stage, though she later declared "I'm not bitchin'-we're all here having fun!"
