Afghan restaurants are hard to come by in the Washington metro area and owner Assad Niazy gets customers from all over the tri-state area. Panjshir offers a plush setting, but it’s still a home-style restaurant at heart, where mom’s delicacies such as kadu palow and assortment of kabobs drive customers to populate this neighborhood favorite since 1988. Replete with a full bar, Panjshir has proven so successful that Niazy has opened another joint in Falls Church.
