A four-star restaurant in a rather desolate area of Southwest D.C., CityZen is a place where you can get really fresh, fine food and really old liquor. (These are good things.) It's strictly a tasting menu -- three courses for $75 and six courses for $90 -- with wine pairings an additional $75. It's definitely pricey, but the selections fit the bill with courses like steamed Pacific sablefish, soft shell crab tempura and herb roasted lamb. The dining room features glass-sculpted walls, including one wall stacked floor to ceiling with wine bottles. It’s beautiful; not exactly Zen, but a dining experience to cherish.
