Deli City is family business that is a Washington institution, it’s been around for 30 years. When you figure in the split on family ownership, Deli City and its variations have been around for 60 years, maybe more. Owner Jay Eckstein says Deli City is a classic New York-style deli that also offers soul food. The area surrounding this kosher style deli is undergoing some renovation, but the staff at the Metro bus depot and nearby residents knows a good food deal when they smell it. Corned beef, brisket and reubens are top selling items. Haddock filets, short ribs and chicken dishes are also popular. Eat in or take out, prices are very reasonable.

This place is an institution. You KNOW the food is going to be good when you first walk in. Home style cooking and service. Ask for Jay......
