A visit to the Skydome Lounge will make you feel like you’ve either traveled backwards in time or to an awkward family reunion. At night, D.C.’s only rotating night club is near pitch black, lit up solely by the colored spotlights of overhanging disco balls. On a Friday night, the music alternated between present-day hip hop and the Bee Gees. Once ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” took over, a much older over-40 age group emerged onto the dance floor. Come here for the nighttime view (without much effort, you can see great panoramas of the city) but keep in mind there’s a $10 cover after 9 p.m.
