The Westchester Dining Room comes through a time portal, last dinosaur of a time when fancy apartment complexes included a fine-dining room so hardworking residents would not have to cook themselves dinner. The Westchester, however, opens its dining room to the public. The complex grounds themselves are a hushed retreat from modernity with the elaborate front gate, 1930's architecture and a central sunken garden. The dining room itself, helmed by a Turkish couple since 1978, has an elegant hotel feel. Try the calf's liver or Turkish calf's liver, pretend you come from old money and finish with a stroll by the fountain.
