For those that don't know, a typical Dominican meal is usually rice and beans served with meat. At Carolinas Restaurant, they follow this  tradition to a T, with entreechoices including stewed beef and chicken, goat meat, pork chops and ox tail. The ambience may be unwelcoming to non-locals (the restaurant and bar are cave-like with their tinted windows and dark interior), but the food is simple and good.
