Typical Salvadoran and Mexican cuisine can be found at Restaurant Tropical (along with a very loud jukebox). You can order the carne asada with eggs and some chicken or beef soup, for example. As with many Columbia Heights restaurants selling Central American food, there is something of a language barrier for non-native speakers. And while most items available were not on the menu, a new, more complete version was in the works.
