Since immigrating to the U.S. 35 years ago, the close-knit Chinese family behind this Van Ness eatery has been serving dishes they brought with them from provinces north of Shanghai. The traditional chicken and seafood dishes are all on order, but the Garden really shines with innovative additions to the pot, like spinach and bok choy. I'ts a homey spot for Peking duck and General Tso’s– just like your (Chinese) grandma used to make.
