Although Chinatown has been taken over more and more by trendy hot spots, Szechuan Gallery has managed to stay put and represent the roots of the neighborhood. The restaurant's decor appears to have not been replaced in many, many years (and they've been advertising their grand opening for just as long), but the food is good, especially if you can manage a way to order from the authentic Chinese menu. The English menu is good too, and the price is certainly right, with a $3.25 lunch special. One drawback is that the entrance is used as a pick-up/drop-off spot for buses to New York.
