Gadsby's Tavern

Dining at Gadsby's Tavern is like taking a step back into history. Not only does this tavern date back to the late 1700’s and has hosted some of the most historical figures of the late 18th and early 19th centuries (including the first three U.S. presidents), there is a female ghost that is said to still be present at the tavern to this day. Fortunate to have been preserved over time by the American Legion and now the City of Alexandria, the tavern provides an elegant setting for romantic dinners, Sunday brunch and tourists looking for a charming and unique dining experience. Signature dishes at the tavern include prime rib and filet mignon, with lamb and seafood specials typically offered over the weekend.
