If you’re yearning for a simple taste of the past, look no further than the Green Tree, a Leesburg restaurant marking the culinary highlights of the 18th century. Specialties of the house include cabbage pie, rabbit fricassee and poached perch served with sour cream and dill. Lunch, however, is a modern affair with more familiar options like the chicken Caesar salad and pastrami sandwich. The interior, which tends toward the dim side after sunset, is stocked with wooden furniture, candles and random antiques that will remind you of the colonial inns of way back when.
