Pentagon City locals are starting to discover Fyve Restaurant Lounge, located in the Ritz Carlton Hotel adjacent to the The Fashion Centre. Fyve -- which takes its name from the five-sided Pentagon nearby -- had its official launch in mid-2008.. The menu options feature modern American cuisine enhanced with flavors from regions of the world, most notably southern Italy, France and North Africa. The Sunday brunch and afternoon teas are popular with guests and locals. While Fyve shares a Ritz-Carlton location, the chef says the restaurant and its cuisine are elegant, but approachable. Specialties like Amy’s Purse — a filet of cod in tomato, cumin and cilantro; the grilled octopus; and, the lamb chops in a honey, lavender, cardamom and coriander mixture -- tend to agree.
