At first glance Abay market doesn’t look like much. A few CDs, grocery goods and wines line the mostly barren shelves but this little dive serves some of the most authentic Ethiopian food around. Raw red meat is popular in Ethiopian cuisine and Abay serves slabs of it with spices and Injera: a spongy flatbread used in lieu of a fork.
