One way to find the most authentic African cuisine in the district is to simply stake out where Ethiopian cab drivers go at lunchtime. Chances are they’ll lead you to this discrete dive in Shaw’s Little Ethiopia. Though Zenebech may lack the flair of the neighborhood’s more popular Ethiopian restaurants, what it's missing in pizzazz it makes up for in sincerity. Don’t be fooled by the rough exterior or the limited seating - this place is home to some of the freshest and most delicious Ethiopian dishes in the city. Each plate comes with house-made injera and a heaping portion of lamb, beef or vegetables. The only aspect of Zenebech that matches its appearance is the price, as almost all items on the menu are under $9.
