Good food.............. TERRIBLE WAITER

For the first time I am compelled to write a review about one of my favorite restaurants in the area, the Athena Pallas.
Athena has excellent food, I have never had a bad meal in this restaurant.
However, I will never dine at this restaurant ever again.
I usually go with a group of friends and we always order alot of food.
Our checks always are large and this is where we have been taken advantage of.
The past four times we have been at the Athena we have had the same waiter, an old man with a very strange hair-cut and not so clean working attire.
Every single time we've had 2-4 carafs of wine put on our tab, I can understand one time being a mistake but when it's every single time then this is a blatant attempt by the waiter to inflate the check.
Then after inflating your tab and adding extra wine the waiter has the nerve to add 20% gratuity.
I have witnessed this now four times, THIS IS STANDARD PROCEDURE WITH THIS WAITER, don'n know if this is an organized thing by the entire staff at Athena but I am willing to give the benefit of doubt to the other servers because my friends have had the other waiters serve them and there has never been any mischief with the other waiters.
Nevermind the fact that this waiter has gotten things wrong with our orders every single time.
Yes, the food is excelllent but when my group has been taken advantage of every single time then it's time to stop going.
I complained to the manager one time, the first time this happened but, but obviously she did not do anything about it because this waiter continues to scam customers checks.
If you go to Athena Pallas, you will enjoy the food and stay away from the old waiter with the strange hair-cut and double-check your tab.

The best Greek restaurant with a few flaws

I have been coming to this Greek restaurant for about one year and it is by far the best Greek food in this entire area. Delicious home cooking with great prices and portions. However, most of the time the service is extremely rude and poor, if you are unfortunate to have the wrong waiter serve you. I have been victim the past three times to the same waiter, a middle-aged man with glasses........ just to warn you who he is. I can understand one time, two times, but three times is enough. This waiter is offensive and always gets your order wrong. If you ask for water to drink he makes a rude sarcastic remark that water is free, if you order something from the menu instead of the specials he'll say that goes good with your water in a sarcastic way, implying that you are cheap. There are a few good waiters in this restaurant, an older gentlemen, a young tall gentlemen, and a young waitress. If you get one of these three servers you are fine, if you get the waiter with glasses.......... Good luck.
