Singapore Bistro

Is there such a thing as Singapore cuisine? Probably, but at Singapore Bistro, they serve Malaysian, Indonesian and Japanese to hungry professionals and bar crawlers. House specialties include grilled salmon pepes and Indonesian cumi goreng, a spicy deep-fried squid dish. They offer inexpensive sushi for the happy-hour crowd and for those watching their girlish figures, there’s low-carb sushi wrapped in cucumber instead of rice. The décor is ok, but happily there are three floors of seating available here and unlike many overcrowded places on 19th St., you can actually hear what the person sitting across from you is saying.
