Despite the slightly corny name, Besta Pizza gives Upper NW and the surrounding neighborhood a nice comfort food option for those nights you just don’t want to cook. It’s carryout and delivery only at this joint. The small storefront location is tucked in a retail strip next to Politics and Prose bookstore and the menu has the typical standards: salads, breadsticks and subs. But the pizzas are the draw here. The crust is thin and the toppings vast. The white pizzas, without tomato sauce, are popular and add to the gourmet flare without the gourmet price.
