Since it opened in 2001, Ristorante Tosca has established itself as the District’s premier fine Italian restaurant. Tosca’s 40-dish menu features signature dishes inspired by Northern Italy’s Lombardi region. The elegant description of each offering speaks to the restaurant’s quality (just try saying “Grilled pork tenderloin in a rosemary and Porcini mushroom crust with Brussels sprouts, sautéed chicory and black truffle sauce” without licking your lips). The austere décor, elegant presentation and gourmet price tags are all a part of this wonderful restaurant. If you’re not on a budget, take advantage of the executive chef’s tasting menu paired with the perfect label from Tosca’s extensive wine list. If you’re looking to spend a bit less but still want to try Tosca, order from their pre-theatre menu; you’ll get 3 courses for $35.
