Named after the umbrella shaped tree found in Latin America (plastic versions and murals of the tree make up much of the décor here), Ceiba has an ultra-chic, smooth style to match the contemporary Latin American cuisine served. But what else would you expect from the group that brought the city TenPenh and DC Coast? The full-service lounge features hard-to-find wines from the America’s, along with caipirinhas and mojitos. The furniture is made from indigenous Brazilian wood and the recessed lighting and mosaic tile from the Yucatan nicely off-set the palm frond banquettes. Expect a posh crowd, as this is one of the District’s most popular restaurants.
