Persian restaurants are cropping up everywhere in the Washington metro area, and Rose is a welcome addition to Vienna's abundance of ethnic restaurants. Kabob is a staple of Persian cuisine, but Rose offers an interesting menu of other Persian delicacies as well, including a selection of traditional stews served on rice and our recommendation: Persian ice cream, made from rose water and saffron (trust us, this is a keeper). Don't be fooled by the casual atmosphere and modest prices, this is fine dining at its best. The chef's specialty is the Soltani Rose which includes filet mignon and beef. Persians are devoted carnivores, so vegetarians need to stick to the appetizers.
