With a large neon side announcing its presence along Connecticut Avenue in Upper Northwest, it’s hard to miss Comet Ping Pong. But because it’s not near a subway stop, people probably do miss it, and that’s a shame. Featuring a proud table tennis theme, Comet is the best kind of neighborhood pizzeria: secret, simple and fun. The pies are sized for one person and they have a straightforward menu featuring five specialty pizzas. Make sure you grab a Pabst at the bar and check out the ping-pong in the back. Be forewarned: the plastic balls will fly at this chic dive.
