Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) can be substituted for chicken or beef in many of the traditionally meat dishes including curry beef, general tso's chicken, kung pao chicken or beef, beef and broccoli and many others. The substance is made with no animal fat or preservatives, and the artificial beef or chicken flavor tastes just like the real thing one of the cooks swears. Be clear: TVP is NOT tofu.
