Proud of its status as the only professional theatre in Howard County, Rep Stage has been nominated for a Helen Hayes award every year of its existence. Rep Stage has two performance venues; a 150-200 seat black box theatre in the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center and the 400 seat Smith Theatre. The professional equity theatre, on the campus of the Howard County Community College, focuses on having a regional or world premiere every season, and on having its ticket prices remain affordable. It also sponsors the popular Actors Institute, a summer theatre-arts program for pre-teens and teens.
