3. 'Doctor Who': Blink

Once or twice a season over on “Doctor Who,” whatever British thespians happen to be occupying the lead roles that year get so overworked, the show devotes an entire episode to different actors. And thank god for that. The third season’s episode “Blink” (about a bunch of soul-sucking angel statues who send whoever dares look in their Medusa-like eyes into the past) might have been the best in the series. Offering more edge-of-your-seat anxiety and residual heebie-jeebies than most Brits could stand, we hear the episode sparked a collective pants-wetting across the pond. “Oi, my knickers!”
